Pregnancy update
Going into the 38th week. Is it over yet? Nope. At my appointment last week, doctor said I'm 2 centimeters dialated. But....I'm not having any contractions. I'm growing more uncomfortable by the day....I'm ready to meet this little babe! Come out come out where ever you are! You can see by the new photo posted on the right that I am WAY pregnant now. Good grief.

Updates
Hi everyone. My posts have been non-existent over the last several months. Now that summer is winding down I'm hoping to stay a little more current with our posts; photos and happenings.
Currently, it's a lovely 67 degrees outside. The windows are open and Madeline and I are just hanging out in her little playroom watching, for what is likely the 100th time this week, the Little Mermaid. She's obsessed with Ariel and the music. In fact, she likes to imitate Ariel singing and Ursula laughing. It's hilarious.
We celebrated Madeline's 2nd birthday on the 20th with a trip to the Minnesota Zoo. She LOVED the monkey's. Likely because they remind her of herself ;-) She also loved the aquatic area, sharks, fish and other water creatures. It was one of those humid sticky days in the 90's so we didn't stay long. I hope to get those photos off my camera and posted soon. Stay tuned.
I'm 35 weeks pregnant and it's just simply not going by quickly enough. I'm anxious to meet this little princess who is constantly wiggling around in utero. I hope Madeline adapts well to this big change coming soon.....
And lastly, we're settled into the house, it looks fantastic and while we have many more projects in our future, we are likely finished for the winter, although we'll still work on getting John's bar and mancave assembled over the next few months.

My apologies for the lack of posts this summer. It's been a busy one. A quick update: we're moved into the new place. The house looks 100% different, rather, better than when we look possession back in May. A few minor hiccups have occured...leaky fridge, leaky toilet, but, we're getting things under control. Many more changes around the house lay ahead for us, but one thing at a time.
The pregnancy has been than enjoyable. I developed a rash called PUPPPS and have debilitating joint pain to boot. The joint pain comes and goes with little to no warning and when it does, all I can do is sit and even that's hard. The rash is constant. Imagine being covered in itchy hives all day, everyday, and nothing can help.....I've had multiple blood tests and have been to several doctors who all scratch their heads and say, let's see if it goes away after you deliver. Great. But, at least the baby seems to be growing and is healthy. She's a wiggle worm in there that's for sure. I'm going on 29 weeks tomorrow and she's going to be delivered by c-section on October 1. I cannot wait.
Madeline is doing fantastic. She's not a baby anymore, she's a little toddler. She eats constantly, and hasn't met a food she doesn't enjoy eating. She's starting to say more words, when she's not being shy. She's just a good natured kid for the most part....a little bit of a spoiled brat, but that's okay for now :-) Most of our days are spent outdoors when it's nice playing with bubbles, sidewalk chalk or in the pool, or trips to the park.

Homeowners!
We successfully closed on our new home this morning- started signing papers promptly at 9am and we were in the car on our way to "our house" by 10:10! We took a quick look through the house with our painter and he was going to begin the cosmetic transformation that day! We can't wait to visit in a day or two when he's just about finished. We will officially move in, or sleep in, the house next weekend, Memorial Weekend 2010. We thought that would be a good way to remember when we moved in.
So Cheers to us! We have a long summer of project ahead of us to make this house our home. We'll post updates as we work. For now, here are some "before" photos. I realized when I posted these I literally left out an entire section of the home which includes the porch, family room, playroom and mudroom, so you'll just have to wait to see those at another time.

It's a girl!
Tuesday afternoon we had our 20 week ultrasound- a healthy baby girl is on her way! Like Madeline, she's measuring one week ahead, which basically means nothing. Brain, heart, spine...all looking beautiful! During the ultrasound I asked the tech if she could please try to get a good shot of the baby's feet. If you remember Madeline's toe story, you know why. And if you don't, click the links below to take a peek into the past....but don't read on until you've read these links....otherwise you'll be confused.

Low and behold, our new baby girl will also have the same unique situation but on her left foot. Some people might think this is horrible, maybe a defect, problematic, an issue, or think 'oh that poor baby'. Well, I think those thoughts crossed my mind the first time I saw Madeline's toe. But, after it's all said and done, the only inconvenience to the entire situation is waiting and finding parking at the hospital!
Clearly this is a genetics thing- somewhere in either John's or my blood line a history of this condition exsists and we simply make babies with an extra digit. It's believed that it's a sign of luck and intellegence. I'll take that :-)
The great part about doing this all over again is that we already have the name of a fabulous doctor and we'll just have to give him a call to take care of our new baby girl when the time comes. For now, we have about 20 more weeks of development until we meet our new princess.
