Entertaining Herself.

In the recent 90 degree heat, with a dew point that pretty much matched...it was a diaper day. Madeline entertained herself for quite sometime doing this....

Photo Update.

Madeline discovered the dog dishes over the weekend. Water dish-all over. Food dish-fun! Check out that tongue. She's workin' hard!

Hot summer+swimming pool=FUN!

The tupperware cupboard is a relief to any mother.

Happy Father's Day.

Happy Father's Day from Madeline. Thank you daddy for all the playtime we get to have. I love you very much. You are the best daddy in the world.

10 months old.

Fun with sidewalk chalk. Obviously she wasn't able to write her name with a large heart around it, but she did make marks on the sidewalk with her chalk. She seemed to have fun with it....she had it all over her toes, hands, legs and arms. She was also facinated with the cement ground. She would run her hand all over it. Interesting texture I suppose.

Here are a few of her developments this month:
  • Has yet to master crawling, but is so close. She scoots, rolls and does the combat crawl all over a room to get to where she wants to go.
  • Loves to find a table or chair to try to pull herself on on. She gets up to her knees and can't quite figure out what to do with her feet
  • Lots of babbling and the only word it sounds like she's working on is "Mum"
  • Can go from her belly or her back to sitting
  • Loves to clap her hands, pat her legs, and do "so....big"

So Big.

I captured this last night. Madeline likes to stay up until at least 9:00 now, sometimes even 10, but she's not crabby, she's ready to party! So last night we worked on our "so....big".

9 month happenings (delayed)

Madeline had her 9 month wellness check this morning and her doctor thinks she's fabulous, of course so do we. Here are some 9 month happenings to get caught up on.

  • Weight, 22 lbs and 8 oz: 95th percentile
  • Height, 29 3/4": 97th percentile
  • Creeps, scoots, rolls, and is closer to crawling each day
  • Beginning to try to pull herself up onto anything she can reach
  • Loves to bang objects together, especially her balls and rattles
  • Loves to clap all the time
  • Babbles, screams (the good kind) and laughs constantly
  • Sleeps from 8:30pm-6am consistantly and has at least 2 naps each day
  • Her favorite toy is her Mirror Me book and books in general.
  • No pacifier, only her fingers and fists will do
  • Continues to have quite a bit of stranger and seperation anxiety from her momma. She needs time before she'll let you into her space.
  • Dislikes having her diaper changed on her changing table
  • Loves the bath. When she gets splashing there's no stopping her!
  • We love her to pieces.

Mommy...Daddy? Can I have a Rolex?

Okay, so today Madeline and I spent the day at home with Nana Donna (and Papa joined us later). I took advantage and left for a pedicure, but that was only for about an hour.
I have learned in the past couple weeks that Madeline loves Rolex watches. She gravitates towards Nana's, and even Nana's diamond ring (but you really can't miss that one....) Over the weekend we attended my cousin Alexis' grad party. My uncle John's wife, Becky, was there and Madeline went right for her Rolex too. Ugh. That's definitely the Lessard in her!
She is spoiled and so I imagine eventually her time witll come and she'll have her own Rolex too.

In these photos we're teasing her with the Rolex.....she's too funny.

First bath....in a month!

The first bath since May 5th! YIKES!

Granted, we did have sponge baths, but they're no fun. No toys, no splashing...just awkward as all h-e double L. But, we managed. One month out of her life. Needless to say, by the time the cast was off I was anxious to get her home and in the tub! I think she set a record bathtime of about 25 minutes. I scrubed her leg to get all the scaly and dried blood (gross, I know) off and I scrubed her head nice and good.....she was have a blast splashing with her toys and of course...no baby book is complete without a photo of the soapy stick-up hair!

Cast off!

Miss Madeline had her cast off on Friday, June 5th at approxiately 10:45am. It was an exciting moment for us, and of course for her. Daddy held her (he has a tighter grip and can tolerate such situations better than I can/could) while the lady with the saw started to remove her cast. She told us that the saw would really vibrate her leg and likely be the cause of her cries rather than her being in any sort of discomfort. Fortunately the saw was so loud that although we could see that she was screaming, we could hardly hear her! We need a noise maker like that for home. Anyway, about 5 minutes later she was cast free and her foot was revealed! Only 5 toes on that foot now! Admitedly I expected her toe to look the way it did and can't wait for the time to pass for it to heal 100%. There is a minor scar along the side of her foot which after time has passed we'll hardly notice it. We're so pleased and so happy this is behind us. In 6 months we'll visit Dr. Walker again for a follow up. Other than that....it's life as usual.
