First experience with Cereal.

We decided to introduce Madeline to a little cereal now that she's past the 4 month mark. Her pediatrician was comfortable with it and we felt that perhaps she was ready to try it. So we slowly introduced her to the spoon and then added a little bit of cereal to it. She ate it like a champ! And after wards, she slept from 8:30 until 5:45! We were a happy mom and dad.

How cute is that?

Last week in pictures...

"Jersey, will you share this couch with me so that I can see what you see back here?"
"Madeline, you take away my attention and now you want my couch?"
"Do I look Italian in this outfit...thank you Domenick and Roseanne!"
"Papa...why...why...why?
"Sophie, you're in your Snugli, too! Let me give you some love!"

Christmas Eve.

Christmas was very "jolly" this year. Christmas Eve was spent at home, where we ate a delicious meal, enjoyed some wine, listened to all the traditional Christmas favorites and even tuned in to watch the continuous Yule Log on the local network tv. Very entertaining. One station was a gas fireplace and on the other was a real wood buring fire. Lovely.

Madeline received a few modest gifts, which was appreciated by her mom and dad (we're running out of drawer space and closet space and she's only 4 months!) Nevertheless, she enjoyed her first Christmas.

"Now what is this toy?......"
"I really like this bow...Sophie, you can open the present if you want...."
"I'm not sure which is my present....this crunchy paper or that other thing?....."
".....or maybe this bow is my present?"
"....well, I like the paper and the bow, you have fun with that other thing."

Happy Four Months Madeline

4:30 a.m.......

That's the time Madeline woke up on her 4 month birthday. Unfortunately for me, this early morning wake up call was about 5 hours too early. There's a good explanation. We hosted a little Christmas get-together for some close friends who are visiting from out of town this holiday. Madeline decided to enter dreamland at 8:30 p.m. Mom and dad went several hours later thanks to the flowing glasses of red wine. Needless to say, this morning was tough. It made me wonder if it's always going to be this difficult. And then this happens and you think...

...it's all worth it.

So sweet.

Here are just some super sweet photos of Madie from our first night. Her Nana bought her bows so we had to have a few photos with it in.

Another day in Florda.

We visited Great Grandma Joyce today. She seemed to be doing very well. We helped Grandma with her Christmas cards this day. She was a little confused with us (Madeline and me)at first, but then it all made sense when she realized that I was her son's (Papa Jeff) daughter and Madeline was my daughter...she said, as she was looking at Papa, "well jeez...she looks just like you when you were a baby." So sweet. I was so happy that we had an opportunity to visit her.

Papa, and the rest of us, needed a Margarita after that visit.

Go Packers!

Because we were visiting her Papa, we had to sport our Green Bay onesie for him- he was a proud Papa, that's for sure!

"Do I look like a doll?"
"Let me hold that by myself...I can do it!"
"I'm sooo cool hanging out here with my momma!"

Marco Island

Today was a big day for Madeline. We went to the Marco Island Marriott Resort- mom had a fabulous massage while Madeline and Nana had a nap under the umbrella by the pool. Here, in pictures, you can see her fun. She wasn't too sure about the waterfall, it was quite noisy, but in the end, she really did have a wonderful time watching the water, getting in the water and just hanging out with mom outside.

When we come again in March, we'll do the beach. I told John I would save her "first trip to the beach" for when he's with us.

"I don't think I'm going to like this pool deal..."
"I'm doing okay though!"
"I definitely like my burp rag more than anything else right now"
"Are you seriously going to make me go in there?!?!"
"I guess so......"
"This is so cool! I can be outside and play at the same time!"
"I love Florida"

Going on a trip!

"I'm going on my first trip soon and my mom has to practice putting me in my stroller like a big girl. We're going to Florida to visit my Nana and Papa!"

Trying to get a move on...

Madeline is going to be rolling around and crawling in no time...well, a little more time, but she's definitely showing great strength and interest to get herself on her tummy and moving. Here's a few photos from this morning in no particular order. I hope you enjoy them!

Do you think she likes Turkey?

Madeline spent her first Thanksgiving at her Grandma and Grandpa Maslow's. The food was spectacular. Thank you!
HOWEVER...Madeline has a different opinion.
She does not like Turkey....not at all. In fact, I think the damn bird scares her.

Gobble Gobble or Ho Ho Ho?

Wearing one of the many Holiday outfits we have for her. This candy cane striped goodie is "Momma's Little Joy".
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! Remember to be "thankful" for all the good things in your life, if not always, then for just one day :)

Thanks, Great Gramma Shirley!

Thanks, Great Gramma Shirley! I love my new cuddly ducky sleep sac! It's my favorite. Love you!

3 Months Today!

"I'm 3 months old today!"

Some of my milestones are:

  • Recognizing my mom and dad's voice. I can find them when they talk to me!

  • I can hold my head up all by myself. Sometimes I'm a little wobbly but I do pretty good for being so little. I'm still working on sitting up on my own, that's going to take some time I think.

  • I'm starting to learn how to role over, from my tummy to my back. I usually fuss afterwards becacuse I don't quite understand what I'm doing...but my mom cheers for me, so I do it anyway.

  • I'm doing really well at grabbing things in my hands and slowly I'm able to get those toys into my mouth. I'm so curious to know what they feel like in my mouth!

  • I drool a lot, but I don't think I'm ready for teeth just yet.

  • I fooled my parents a few months ago and slept through the night. Now I wake up just once so I can smile at them and make sure they didn't forget about me.

  • I like to talk and laugh a lot and kick my legs and move my arms.

  • I'm a happy baby for the most part, but I love to cry when I'm tired. Mom is teaching me how to nap during the day in my crib now. I don't necessarily like it, but eventually I'll fall asleep for a little while.

Cold and Rainy.

It's cold and rainy today. Madeline and I are spending our day inside to catch up on much needed Tummy time and working on strengthening her little neck. She's doing great! I suppose when she's content on her playmat Mom will start pulling out some Christmas decorations...yes, CHRISTMAS decorations! John and I love the holiday's (most people do) and can't wait to get our home all decorated for the season.

Our next blog will highlight her 3 month mark, which is November 20th! Talk to you then.

Enjoy these photos taken this week...

Changes.

I can't believe it's almost Madeline's 3 month birthday, AND thanksgiving!

Going through a few changes in the Maslow household, and haven't had much time to blog....not with pictures anyway. I'll get some up soon though.

But, one very exciting thing to share......MADIE IS SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT! We're a happy mom and dad!

Post again soon.....

Our Peanut.

"Momma, why must you shove that camera in my face all the time?"

"I see something neat over there...so I'll smile at it, but not at you! Hehe!"

"Okay fine, I'll shoot a little grin at you...but only because I know how cute I am."
